About 24 hours too late, but I see The Soldier proved himself as the NFL's best tight end yesterday.

Fuck Kellen Winslow and Jeremy Shockey. I respect good tight ends that don't get deserved hype like Antonio Gates, Todd Heap and Alge Crumpler. But none of them still hold a candle to Tony Gonzalez.

    Well done, Doc.

Not so well done, Jason. Then again, it's what we should have expected. Oh well. At least this time it was just a stupid question on a message board rather than screwing up your vote for the Top 25, basically making the exact same mistake that cost another sportswriter his vote.

In Jeff Garcia's eight starts since leaving the Browns at the end of 2004, his teams are 1-7.

Of course, the 1 was when he played against the Browns.

But he's a "seasoned veteran" with great "leadership skills."

Has he thrown any fucking helium-filled moonballs in a shrieking panic while sprinting away from the line of scrimmage like a spastic orangutan yet?

Gonzalez has an actual viable NFL quarterback throwing to him. Someday maybe Winslow will have one, too.

Gonzalez may still be the best, especially with Gates' production going down this year, but no way is he head and shoulders over all of those guys any more.

That Jake Delhomme INT may have been the worst pass I've ever seen.
