When I told Joe a few weeks ago that I was gay, he was grateful that I trusted him. He asked me to join him in 2013. We'll be marching on June 8.

    Good for him.

I figured that the order of first athlete to come out would be NHL>NFL>NBA>MLB.

The NHL first because Canadians are OK with it, the NFL second because physical contact is no big deal in that sport. MLB last because it's the most faux-macho by far.

If it wasn't going to be a mass coming-out, like Abendayejo predicted, it was going to be something like this: A veteran, not a star, with a good academic background and a willingness to talk about it.

Good on Jason Collins. And good for the world of sports.
