"Oh, that Alan" was a classic ending to the Whipit video. And R.I.P. to a member of a band that was/is one of a kind.

My favorite Devo song, linked below, could easily cross thread another thread.

 

Obviously, the band was best-known for Whip It, but the other songs they did were quite good as well... Are We Not Men is another great one...

Johnny Slash has to be pouring one out for his ninth-favorite band of all time.

 

Their cover of "Satisfaction" is tremendous:

 

Freedom of Choice was their best.

So many pther good songs by them: Uncontrollable Urge, Time Out for Fun, Peek-a-Boo, Through Being Cool. Their version of Are You Experienced? was awful, tho. Mark Mothersbaugh has done a ton of TV scoring over the years.

 

Mark Mothersbaugh is also Wes Anderson's go-to film score composer, in much the same way Danny Elfman is for Tim Burton.

 

Also a regular on Yo Gabba Gabba.

 

Some music ages well...and some music sounds 100 years old.
