Yeah, the woman did something stupid, but the radio station should still be held accountable. You can't have contests where it puts a life in jeopardy.

You can't? Somebody better call the NFL, NHL and Fear Factor (to name a few).

What I want to know is in a couple of years, are they going to be holding a "Hold your Wii for Wie" contest?

I'm just saying that a radio station wouldn't hold a Russian Roulette contest on the air because of the threat of legal liability. No one at the station probably thought it was realistic that someone would die from drinking too much water.

We all remember the radio station that had a couple boinking live, on the air, in a cathedral. I wouldn't put it past one to try your idea, too.

Why do these places continue to have these dangerous food-eating/drinking contests? Every few months you read about one ending in tragedy. Remember the rash of "Chubby Bunny" deaths?

    What are people thinking?

    They're not thinking, obviously.

How creepy is it that this station is known as 107.9 The End?

Question: how would Onterrio Smith have fared in this contest?

Jeez, who peed in their Corn Flakes?

And everyone on the "Morning Rave" gets canned, but the higher-ups who should have known better than to let this go through aren't? Seems like someone from the front office and/or legal should be eating termination this morning.

Which probably will hurt them when the case goes to trial, since they are clearly acknowledging that the employees acted irresponsibly.
