AWESOME for Bryan Cranston. Huge fan of that show. Tremendous surprise.

I wasn't that hot for the show when I watched it, but i was happy for Cranston. He's put in a lot of time without much credit. Good to see somebody like that get their due.

Yep, yep. You can debate Mad Men vs. earlier Wire, all you want, but Season V of The Wire was too repetitive -- not to mention weaker, when it was original. Classic case of the difficulty of maintaining a high standard, once established.

Neither series is perfect . . . on multiple occasions, both MM and TW have made me cringe (yep, always easier to be a critic than a creator, yep, yep),
but both have put a lock on their places on the Mt. Olympus hosting serious
    TV series.

What was that show Cranston was on? I don't think I've ever heard of it.

It's called "Breaking Bad" and it's a fantastic show on AMC.

I'll put that on the list behind Mad Men, which I have still yet to see a single episode.

Despite the fact that MM is far more endearing to the portion of the audience which will never see 50 again, the writing is 98.7% gold.
If you begin at the beginning, you have to give it a chance -- three
episodes, minimum. If you can walk away from it, after that, you're strong.

It's been on my "to see list" for awhile. I'm sure I'll get to it eventually.

Best shows off the beaten path (network TV) right now:

    1. Mad Men
    2. Sons of Anarchy (watch it if you haven't)
    3. Weeds

Pretty soon, I'm doing my annual switch from Showtime to HBO to catch up with "Entourage" and "CYE".
