    I've never seen "We were soldiers once ..." but I have read the book.

    If the movie is anything like the book, that's an awfully good description of the clusterfuck that was the Vietnam War.

    At the stage of the war that the book took place I don't think that Viet Nam was yet viewed as a clusterfuck.

    It was the time though when the US realized that they had a battle on their hands.
