Watching Gannett, and I see a bad moon rising

    Considering the retail climate, even with, perhaps especially with, Christmas coming up, I imagine ad outlooks have been scaled back by at least 10 percent. Throw that on top of the typical 10 percent per quarter year-to-year drops most newspaper companies have seen and papers are going to have to hack another 2-3 percent of payroll.
    Anybody know if Gannett has cut their ad rates at all? I know most of their papers aren't know for being cheap to advertise in.
