Which city would be more fun (and less expensive) to spend a weekend?

I think it's been implied above, but not explicitly stated — all the museums and monuments in DC are free.

Boston's a super town, though. And you can't beat Fenway if you had to pick one place to see a ball game.

I'm a little biased, having lived in the city for 15 years...but it's Boston unless you are big on history and government.

UNLESS you are big on history and government?

Which Boston are you from?

Careful, Stormy. Those long weekends are relationship killers.

Do they even have government there?

Yeah, but it's all pinko commies, I think.

Clearly, bostonbred has never walked the Freedom Trail. ::)

Boston is the birthplace of America. It's where the first English settlers arrived, and it's where the revolution started. If I could live forever in Boston, it wouldn't be enough time for me.

Or been to the Constitution Museum. Or visited JFK Library ...

As a Boston native, my money would be on D.C., just because it's D.C. In addition to the Smithsonians, please make yourself walk down to Georgetown and enjoy some of the other neighborhoods.

Seeing a cold, empty ball park or a middle-aged guy with a man purse and Crocs....

Same here. Except for the winters.

Need to get back there again one day.

Just saw prices for hotels in Boston versus hotels in Washington. Had to change my underwear shortly thereafter.
