Which city would be more fun (and less expensive) to spend a weekend?

My dad is huge in to trains, and also enjoys going to museums and the like. I was thinking about organizing a weekend where we'd take the train (the Acela on one way, just to say we were on it) to either of the above-mentioned cities, see the sights, have a nice dinner and catch a ballgame. Which would be a better value?

    For museums and history: Washington.

For drinking and actual enjoyment: Boston.

I'm as big a Boston guy who doesn't live there (anymore), but I think DC is the better value.

Hit up the Old Ebbitt Grill. Great filet for less than $20.

And it has museums out the ass.

Of course, it also depends on proximity.

But DC is a lot cheaper than Boston.

Go to Boston, see the Monster.

Go to Washington, see the Moddy.

    Pretty much a push.

DC is unquestionably the better value.

I can testify to the Old Ebbitt Grill. I had the lobster, which was also less than $20, and it kicked ass.

For my money -- and it would be way less of it -- Washington, easily.

I'm hoping to surprise the g/f with a trip to DC for her birthday. I can ditch her there & hang out with the DCSportsJournalists.com crew!!!!

I saw the Van Gogh exhibit on Veterans Day nine years ago in D.C. and then walked the Mall and saw the vets in each others arms around the Wall. The woman I was with and I also got propositioned about doing a little swinging at some dive bar later that night.

I jumped into the Green Monster a year earlier while on a Boston trip with a buddy. I thought I was going to hook up with a chick I met at a bar a block from Fenway.

    I pick D.C.

And we declined, which is just as well because I got puking drunk that night.

Uh....D.C. can be enjoyable. And you can drink there, too.

    I've done drinking in both.

It was my opinion. If you want to add yours, feel free. Otherwise, stop being a douche.
