As messed up as we all know Congress is, all you have to do is look at California to see tyranny of the majority in action. Civil rights shouldn't be subject to majority approval.

In an ideal world, I'd agree. But is the general public really that much more fucked than Congress? Tyranny of the majority vs. tyranny of the "1 percent" seems like a worthy debate to have.

There have been a few other WTF propositions in California that I'm thinking of too.

But actually, if I were king of the world, I'd be fine with whatever form of government we have as long as prima nocte is the law.
