BLOG! reporting that a shouting match at WT led the resignation of ANE yesterday. As expected, former Times staffer George Archibald weighs in and slams said ANE.

Previous reports here and here, from the same blog.

I know some folks up there and I do feel bad for them...

I hear sports is pretty insulated from the BS. If that's true (and they have some talented folks there), then I hope they can keep doing their jobs without much interruption.

Wow. Nice situation at the WT. McCain sounds like a real prince. I wonder of he goose steps into the office every day.

Anybody else know about this? I love newspaper internal politics.

I have no idea who these people are, but I'm guessing anyone who writes for the Nation is agenda-free.

Never said they were. It's out there for you to read and make a decision.

Unfortunately, like many conflicts in Washington, I'm not sure either side can be believed.

Totally. I love reading about it. Good inside baseball. Even at my paper, love to hear about it.

I like to know how things work at different papers.

I abhor newsroom politics, and I'm not talking about liberal vs. conservative.

Oh, I think they suck, and I've been caught in the middle of it before. But I'm just saying it's interesting to me. That's all. Especially on something like the WT issues.

Hell, don't we as sportswriters love the internal politics of teams we cover, good or bad? We ave to deal with it. It's just intersting to me to know who hates who and why, who's the bigest A-hole on the squad, etc.
