Warren buys another paper

Just heard this from a friend ... management at the Greensboro News and Record just informed their employees that the paper had been sold to BH Media, Warren Buffett's newspaper company ...

 

If true, may be a good thing.

 

So the same company that owns Winston-Salem now owns Greensboro, hmm?

Good for Greensboro or potential trouble ahead for employees at both?

 

Hard to believe the papers will not at least combine management and websites. Do they operate seperate printing plants? If so I bet those get combined.

And I guess Landmark did not sell their other media properties. Surprised, given that Landmark and Media General dominate the newspaper market in Virginia. I would have thought a comnination would have made lots of sense.

 

And the paper misspells its new owner's name on Page 1.

 

What is the shape of that paper?

It doesn't look like a tabloid or a broadsheet.

 

Pretty standard broadsheet.
