Every time I hear Hotel California, I start laughing like a school girl.

    kingcreole will remember this.

Several years ago at our paper, one of our guys comes up with a musical game on paper.

One of the songs was "Hotel California" by The Eagles.

The phrase was........"warm smell of ________ rising up through the air."

One of our newbees in the newsroom comes up with "warm smell of CLITORIS rising up through the air."

I have never laughed for so long and so hard in my life as when I first read that.

Wonder what he really meant with some of his other lyrics.
Maybe Zeke can analyze Boys of Summer....

Siblings and I have sang it that way for as long as I can remember.

The lyric DOES work better that way. Sort of like how in classic rock love songs, you can replace most instances of "Love" with "drugs" and they still work.

"For Your Love" being a favorite.

    Great stuff Chef!

    There was also:

"Therrrrrrre's a bathroom on the right!"

Haha, I've always thought that, too.

A bit more contemporary lyric that my friends and I have always heard, even though it wasn't really there: Usher's "Yeah," third line of the chorus, "All the white girls up, please pass the corned beef."

When I was a kid, I thought Aerosmith was singing "Doo-doo likea lady."

I burst out with a great cover of, "The heart of rock n roll is in Cleveland," one night long ago in the newsroom.

HejiraHenry almost fell out of his chair.

    Another one from CCR:

"Oh Lord, suckin' an old tire again." (Stuck in Lodi again).

    From Black Sabbath's "Paranoid":

"I tell you to end your life/I wish I could but it's too late." (enjoy life)

    Foreigner:

"Hot Blooded, jacket and sleeves." (check it and see)

From Led Zeppelin's "Rock N' Roll":

"Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight/Lincoln logs just won't walk right." (Making vows that just can't work right).

Any my favorite, from The Rolling Stones' "Beast of Burden":

"Ah listen nurse, I could suck a duck." (All your sickness, I could suck it up).
