Interesting that a lot of them move here though.

No, but fundamentalists have bombed hospitals, clinics, burnt churches and killed people in their homes all in the name of a cause.

You just need to pick the right cause.

Slight difference. This was done by our military--meaning the US Government--not some non-state terrorist group. The actions of the US Govt are taken on behalf of all of us (whether we like it or not); whereas atrocities committed by ISIS are not done on behalf of everyone living in the Mideast.

Regardless, there was nothing wrong with Ace's statement. He was pointing out that incidents like these help explain why so many in the Mideast dislike us. And he's absolutely right. Simply pointing out that fact does not mean that he hates America, was "throwing America under the bus", or any other such nonsense.

I believe that's because we refuse to pay ransoms.

We refuse to pay ransoms because it would lead to more kidnappings and ransoms involving Americans.

That's true. But how many individual FAMILIES would pay a ransom if given the chance to release their loved ones? 99.85 percent? Is that normal human nature, or are the families being selfish and potentially putting others at risk to be kidnapped in the future?

So if we stop killing crazed fundamentalists, they'll stop hating us?

Actually, it's a pretty legitimate question, using the standards that Gowdy's party has now set.

Ah, we're back to the old questioning one's patriotism thingy.

Yes. Killing doctors from all around the world trying to treat injured people is exactly the same as killing crazed fundamentalists.

Sorry, wasn't responding to that. Was responding to the idiotic assertion that crazed fundamentalists will simply drop their weapons and start singing Kumbayah if we surrender.

I think we can all agree it's bad policy for a government to blow up a hospital full of doctors and patients.
