Cox Media Group has an SEC website, and we're looking for full-time and part-time employees for the following positions:

    Breaking News Writers

We need reporters who understand how to aggregate news, develop sources, and have the ability mix in the elements of opinion, analysis and humor.

If you're interested, please do two things: Please email a copy of your resume and variety of 10 clips (features/enterprise, breaking news and multi-media) to SECBloggers@gmail.com. The official job posting is here: Search Jobs at Cox Companies

You can live remotely for most positions, and pay depends on experience.

So these aren't reporting positions, then. They're digital production roles.

Reporters who mix in elements of opinion? Yeah, those would be columnists . . .

I didn't realize reporters could toss in their own opinion on hard news. Must have been doing it wrong all this time.

I'd guess a significant percentage of what happens on the twitter feeds of sports beat reporters involves requests for their opinions. The lines have been blurred. Not defending it, but it's the new normal.

Did that help-wanted notice just go up Thursday? Nice timing and nice planning by management ..
