    Study says that is a great indicator of life expectancy.

    Isn't this rather obvious? People who can spring up easily tend to be healthier and more fit. Healthy and fit people tend to live longer than fatassed couch potatoes. What a surprise.

    I presume the same would apply to nearly any other indicator of fitness. I bet people who can climb a moutain or swim 50 laps also tend to live longer than those who can't.
