    I think this is a key part of the story: Patterson conceded that he didn’t actually think his bill would be enacted into law. He says he’s winding down his two decade political career and wants to provoke public discussion before he leaves office.

    Here's a way of regulating journalists: Politicians, figure out which ones are the professionals and only tell them the good stuff. You know, kind of like how it's always been.

    Probably the best way for an American to get a journalism job in the U.K. is to work for a U.S. bureau.

    If you're getting paid in dollars, right now is a good time.
