Anyone else see the Washington Post story about the abhorrent conditions at Walter Reed? By abhorrent, we mean rat infestation, roaches everywhere, lice and other critters that belie any claim to cleanliness. Unbelievable.

Actually there have been at least two threads on this topic...and the WP stories are indeed pretty damning and sickening.

I did a search and didn't find another thread. Sorry for the d_b, but you're right. It's unconscionable that the hospital would be that poorly run.

Not really a D_B because the threads slipped down a page or two.

EDIT: Went back five pages and couldn't find them. WTF?

Also, the problem of people "cleverly" naming the thread titles means you'll often gloss right past a legit one.

Turn on CSPAN right now and watch the hearings. Fascinating stuff going on.

I haven't seen incompetency this bad since Katrina. :'(

If there ever was a case to finally start this impeachment process, here it is.
This crap must not carry on any longer.

I'm one of the biggest Bush bashers on here, but I'm not going to play him for this one. The military dropped the ball and they're the ones who need the ass-beating, not the Shrub. However, the fact that it was discovered on his watch doesn't help his case at all.

Because Lord knows that Walter Reed was a paragon of efficiency before January 2001. All of this clearly started then...

Anyone who thinks the feds should run health care needs to spend a day at a VA hospital.

What they are doing is good fiscal policy.

Walter Reed is a model of efficiency when treating presidents and our military who can get back on the job.

Why spend a whole lot of money providing country club lodging for veterans who are missing limbs and can never go back to work? We are running a budget deficit and tough choices had to be made.

These people volunteered for this duty, remember. No one forced them to go to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Somebody must believe it at some level or why is it happening?

    Actions speak louder than words.

Usually the folks who shout that they support the troops mean they support the war.
