Walter Cronkite "gravely ill"

Well done sir.

I wonder if Walter has ever cut the rug to the sounds of KC.

 

I'm old enough to remember when Cronkite left his anchor desk, and also old enough to remember the spoof of his final broadcast by Johnny Carson:

For national news, Cronkite ruled.
For late night, Carson ruled.
And they both still do.

After today, they need to be hyper-vigilant of his status. They go in threes, but I've never heard of three icons dying on the same day.

Navigating PBS schedules can be tricky, but I think some markets Tuesday night will air a repeat of a special on Cronkite from the "American Masters" series. It's supposed to be pretty good, and I'm going to try to find out if it's going to be on in my area.

I've seen it, and it is, in fact, quite good. Definitely worth seeing again if you've already seen it, or for the first time if you haven't.
