Walmart stops selling assault rifles, other bad stuff

    I guess it could be. But I don't really think it is. I thought I explained how/why.

    I suspect it's simultaneously a PR move and business decision. The brass had probably already made the decision (or at least was close to it) and decided today to make the announcement while Wal-Mart can get some good PR out of it.

    The gunman didn't use an assault rifle, so realistically, this does not appear to be a direct reaction to today's killings.

    I'm pretty sure this is a planned, sales-based decision. It makes sense.

    Walmart doesn't make any decisions without consulting spreadsheets and planograms. If they were still making X per square foot taken by those firearms, they'd still sell them.

    If they're getting rid of bad stuff, I assume they are doing away with their music sections.

    If it wasn't a PR move, they sure picked a helluva day to confirm they aren't selling assault weapons.
