So not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but I saw a Youtube clip with a preview of "Walk Hard" with Jack White playing elvis...

At first I thought it was lame, but I think he does a decent job....

There's also a clip of Jack Black playing Paul McCartney....

Seems like this could be a cool movie....

    thoughts?

Based on those two clips? Ugh. Avoid the theater, rent it.

White's Elvis accent is horrible. And Jack Black slips into a Scottish accent at one point. Paul Rudd as Lennon was better than Black. Heck, Justin (I'm a Mac aka Warren P. Cheswick) Long and Jason Schwatzman were better than Black.

seriously, everything i've seen about this tells me it's gotta be awful. but yet i still laugh everytime i see the preview. it's john c. reilly, dude just makes me laugh. it could be like talledega nights -- where i knew it sucked, but i still giggled the whole way through

I was watching an interview with Reilly last night on Fuse, and the interviewer was just setting him up softballs to play off the 'Cox' name.

    Loose Example:

Q: So I heard you're going on tour, what's that called?

    A: Cox across America.

Q: And is this going to be something you'd like to do every year?

A: Well it all depends on how much America loves Cox.

    Etc, etc.

It's getting pretty good reviews... I don't see myself seeing it in a theater, especially since there's so much out that I haven't seen, but I'll probably download or rent it...

The first time I saw the trailer, I thought this one sucked. But I've really warmed up to it.
Maybe it's because I just watched Talladega Nights again.
