I definitely wouldn't say Roddick outplayed him. Roddick played extremely well, Federer played better.

If Djokovic wins just one of the seven set points he had in the first two sets,l that could have been one hell of a final.
But... the great ones play their best on the biggest points and that's why Federer is now no worse than top three of all-time and climbing. When he needs to make a shot, he's got it.

Djokovic is goning to be a handfull on hardcourts from here on out and Nadal, healthy, is a bitch on clay. 2008 could be much tougher for Federer.

It seems the USTA would be wise to move the tournament up a week. The big finish -- Super Saturday and the men's final on Sunday -- gets lost in the sports soup because of college football and the start of the NFL. But if they move it up a week, they avoid the start of the NFL, and maybe end it on Labor Day with a doubleheader of the men's and women's finals.

Or they could start it on the Sunday and end it Saturday. Women's final during the day, men's final Saturday night.
The women on Saturday night thing, created when it looked like the Williams sisters forever, is the worst ticket in sports right now.

Here's why Federer is a champion: in Montreal, it was Federer who was up 6-5, 40-love on his own serve in the first of the final, and he went to shit and Djokovic came back to win the set.

In a Grand Slam, exact same situation reversed, he somehow gets out of it.
    That's a pair.
