bluegrass, I almost forgot. My cousin is in the Old Guard, the soldiers who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. If you're interested, I can probably get him to give you an insiders tour of the cemetery.

Yes, Chinatown has a lot of awesome restaurants, also definitely hit Union Station and the Capitol since they are right there together. I always thought the 2 coolest stops on my trips up there were Arlington and the Lincoln Memorial. The tourmobile can drop you off and pick you up at all the tourist attractions in the city. I think it's like 20 bucks a person. The Supreme Court building is pretty cool too.

Supreme Court is located right next to the Library of Commerce (a must for All The President's Men fans).

Every city has a Chinatown. Most of them are pretty cool.
Ben's Chili Bowl, on the other hand, is unique to DC.

Leads to the what came first question - an opening of a Chinese takeout that expanded into full destination or designated square mile area for anyone that opens Chinese restaurant.

I think it was the latter.
Joe McCarthy wanted to keep them all together so we could keep an eye on them.
