I think we have been in agreement on this before. But yeah, he is still magic to the home base and he is always Grade A for them because of that, but he is not an easy listen for someone who doesn't have all that personal history invested.

But even if you love him, he sounds old.

As others have said, he does Dodgers home game that are televised locally, plus locally televised games from San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona and Anaheim. He cut Colorado this season.

His first three innings are simulcast, then it's TV only.

He doesn't sound 40 to me. He sounds ageless.

Any night the Dodgers are at home, that's my background noise at work from 10 p.m. on.

We will throw down on Vin. :p

He doesn't sound 40 there. He does sound older.

Of course, his cadence is slightly different when he announces a game.

In a world that gave us the Caray family, Scully is one to be cherished.

IJAG's not ripping the guy, she's just saying he sounds old.

    Which he does.

Listen to a game he did in the '80s. It's apparent the vocal chords aren't what they once were. But they're still golden, and he's still the gold standard for baseball broadcasters.

    I'd be ripping him if I hadn't said I wouldn't on this thread. :D

Oh, fuck, he reads incessantly from the background sheets that are prepared for him. If it's a three-game series with the Giants, you'll hear every day that Gerald Dempsey Posey III's father was also nicknamed Buster, and it was passed on to the son.

You can't be the world's biggest Vin fan because Vin has that nailed down.
