There was a shred of seriousness to it. I imagine Favre will call it quits rather than play in Arizona, b/c he's been horrendous this year and there's no sticking it to the Packers to be achieved out in Arizona. But I imagine that he also he knows he'll be dead within five years of retiring and would like to delay it as long as possible.

Of course, the Cards aren't desperate to generate support for a new stadium and aren't coached by someone with minimal success and job security, so there goes that idea.

I'm not always in agreement with Fran (even though he was my favorite Viking when I was a kid), but I think in this case, he's spot-on.

 

I'm the other way around. I hated, HATED Fran Tarkenton for the brief time I remember him as a player and as a TV celebrity on That's Incredible!

But I love the cantankerous, grouchy retired Tarkenton. He was spot on about Favre.
