From The Pipeline, this one is down and Orlando is down another writer:

Jeremy Fowler is leaving UF beat to cover the the Vikings for St. Paul.

  2. Do you think Mike McCarthy will flip if any of the Packers receivers say they're glad Favre is gone and they now get to play with a "real" quarterback?

Worked with Jeremy during my South Florida days. Congrats to him.

If this is true, how does the Sentinel plan to handle the UF beat that Jeremy's leaving?

    A. It is true. No ifs.
    B. They'll figure something out in the interim and make a hire soon. Plenty of capable people there.

I wonder if covering the Vikings for the limping Pioneer Press is that much of a step up from covering the Gators for the O-Sentinel.

Got to think that even the limping Pioneer Press knows by this point that it will be used as a springboard to -- who knows, but something beyond its dead-tree sports pages. Seems a matter of getting in, using the experience and padding the resume, and then moving on.

    It's a huge step up.
