Thumbs down. TI couldn't sniff Lil Wayne's jock strap.

I also have to give a shout out to Big Bear, if only because he had the greatest album cover of our times.

DMX's first album is still one of my favorites, and the second wasn't shabby, but he lost his appeal and hasn't made anything good in a very long time.

I love T.I. I think Wayne is more unique, just for his annoying-ass voice...but T.I. is just smooth.

prez: You also forgot the fact he's a crackhead.

No Chuck D? No credibility. Not saying he should have won, but you don't get to do this without Chuck D in the field.

If we are basing this on recent work then Kanye, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z (not in that order) should get some consideration.

T.I. is dope, KING was an amazing album, Paper Trail, meh.

But there are dudes like KRS, Chuck D, Dre, Snoop, and, oh yeah, anyone ever heard of Rakim, I submit the following as evidence of the greatness of Rakim:

I like Eminem a lot. But he's not in the same class as Jay-Z.

Dr. Dre and Snoop should be ahead of him as well.

Dre has never really been regarded as a stellar rapper, his beats are crazy and he can flow at times, but there are people that say he is not even in the discussion. I am not one of them, I think he is great and Jay is an amazing lyricist, Reasonable Doubt is a phenomenal album.

Snoop has a great way of rapping. Based on sheer quality of their voice, Ludacris is up there, he has a great sound.
