Vernon Forrest RIP

I have a friend who sparred with him once (He also sparred with Arturo Gatti). I covered his first fight with Serrgio Mora and I interviewed him once. He was a pain in the ass to interview, but it was probably more my fault than his.
By all accounts, a decent guy.

 

Arguello, Gatti and Forrest within a month.... wow.

 

Since that's three, Sugar Shane Mosley is breathing a sigh of relief.

 

I was thinking Ali....

 

Amazing that we have lost some of these people this year, while David Crosby, Ali and Keith Richards, and Abe Vigoda.... soldier on.

 

I was keeping it in the generation, Simon.

 

Arguello was the tail end of Ali.

If we are gonna get picky.

 

What a year this has been, in regard to those who have passed, both in sports and mainstream.

I think the last quote in that story was attributed to the wrong guy. If Gatti actually commented on Forrest's death, that's a huge story in itself.
