    Well, the thing is, I or a family member are more likely to be a victim of random violence and criminal behavior, than scooped up and tossed behind bars.

    I don't believe that I'm well served by the current social compact.

    I'm not sure where you get your numbers, but these bogeymen have been telling anyone who will listen that they want to kill us in large numbers, have succededonce on a arge scale, multiple times on smaller scales, and have been foiled more than that. But I think I'll choose the next commander in chief based on his position on carbon emissions.

    OK Guy, fine.

    But I'm willing to bet that in 2000, when ''terrorism'' wasn't an issue, you still thought the Democrats were totally wrong about something else that was your overriding issue. (abortion maybe, or maybe you're super-rich and taxes were a big concern). At least in that situation, Democrat or Republican actually matters.
