convey is an excellent crosser, but he needs to get the ball and some space to work with. That's how he made his money for Reading. He's also an excellent dribbler. Better than Donovan.

Of course, it was Reyna's remarkable run that led to McBride's goal that made it 1-0 early on against Mexico.

Isn't it true, also, that for Switzerland to draw with France today would be termed "getting a result"?
Or do I have that wrong?

No result occurred because there was no resolution. The game ended in a tie. This score is acceptable and the Swiss obtained a desirable draw. But, they did not get a result.

Thank you. Because in real life, a loss IS a result.

Yes, a "result" would be obtained, just not a positive result for the side that lost.

The Czechs obtained a result. The US needs to rework their plan in order to obtain a result against Italy.

Absolutely. There was so much talk about how "fit" they were, how they were gonna be one of the more "prepared" teams at the World Cup. With the idea that would compensate for their inferior talent, you see.

But they looked completely unprepared, like all their confident talk stemmed only from some lucky breaks four years ago. Beaten by a better team, sure. But they looked shellshocked before the first goal.

You expected otherwise from a LonGuyland boy?

It's been a while since a US team has had to play with actual desperation.

That alone will ratchet up the interest Saturday.
