    The guy who does the bracket projections at SI.com has VCU (10) playing BYU (7) in Kansas City, with the winner getting a crack at Oklahoma.

    That could be pretty interesting.

    I know you can't have a repeat of a conference matchup until the Elite Eight (or maybe it's Sweet 16 to allow the possibility of nine teams from a conference making the tournament). But when can you have repeat non-conference matchups? Oklahoma beat VCU earlier this season.

    The in-conference rematch thing is fair, but I think it's asking too much of a selection group already perceived to be incompetent to also take into consideration non-conference rematches.

    Let the chips fall as they may.

    Come to think of it, George Mason played Wichita State in the Sweet 16 three years ago, and that was a Bracketbusters rematch, so it's possible at least that far.

    Good point. But what happens when you have more possible rematches than you do regions in which to place those teams? At some point, it could get very dicey.
