No offense meant to anyone here who might have them, but vanity license plates are stupid. A co-worker of mine has one that tells the world how "bad" he is, and he's taken a steady raft of shit for it.

I just don't understand the appeal.

Tell me his plate is "BADMOFO" and I'll forgive him.

There's one at work that says "MSSTEF" and it always makes me think of early 90s R&B group MoKenStef. Can't explain it.

For every one that's clever, there are thousands that are ridiculous. Like the one I saw in Virginia that said "too cute." I checked out the woman driving. False advertising. The best ones are guys in sports cars with any number of douche phrases on the plates. I did see a funny one in Cincinnati though. Ohio plate with a Steelers frame and "We Dey" on the plate.

    Some are cute.

    Some are stupid.

Some make me want to force the driver to pull over and explain what the frack it means.

There should only be one vanity plate available to people who think it's a good idea: IMADUSH

Creosote, you're a Virginia guy, right? I'm sure you've seen the vanity-plate GOAT:

Virginia is rampant with them. I think they are cheaper to get here than most states.

And not Virginia, but worth posting anyway.

The only good ones are the ones where they've clearly snuck one past the DMV's editors.

In GA, the standard plates do a run on a series of letter prefix sequences--DLT, BNN, etc. Right now, I'm seeing a rash of BYH license plates...
