I have some issues with the sourcing here, but my overwhelming feeling is shame that my alma mater allowed this to happen.

Another reason I'm proud to be an alum of a school where "Greek life" was next to nonexistent.

I do not have a dog in the fight, but I'm skeptical about this scene:

"What, she's not hot enough for you?" Then they egged him on: "Don't you want to be a brother?" "We all had to do it, so you do, too."

    And this, as well:

"Why didn't you have fun with it?" Cindy asked. "A bunch of hot Phi Psi guys?"

I have no doubt rape happens at college campuses. I do doubt, however, that the perpetrators talk like they are reading lines out of a B-movie script.

I think that's exactly how it would happen.

The coolness of Rolling Stone and Grantland incorporating the phrase "Motherfucker" into their stories.

    Fail.

The story reinforces my long-held belief that universities are in no way equipped to manage sexual assault allegations and need to get out of the business all-together. These cases need to be referred to the police - real police, not campus police - and the victims paired with a victim advocate group that can help them begin rebuilding their lives.

It reminds me of the old Mitch Albom trick where an unverifiable person says exactly what he needs them to say for his sappy story.

I do not think that these men said those things, and I do not think that the woman's friend told her that she should have had "fun with" a violent gang rape.
