None of those guys were middle infielders. And Rose played 156 games at 3B in 1978, so he wasn't a middle infielder that year, either. (And FWIW, Molitor played 58 games at DH, 41 games at 3B and 19 games at 2B in 1987. So he wasn't a middle infielder, either.) Sorry.

    Debunked.

I'll answer it for you. Yes, he's easily out.

    But, indeed, it doesn't matter.

Incredible, the number of baseball's-shit-don't-stink lemmings on this site.

My lonely trudge to inform you must continue.

What's the longest streak by a pitcher?

I am, without any question, the impetus for more secondary accounts on this site than anyone.

He's easily out? Pube, if you weren't watching the game then how the fuck can you say Utley would easily be out? You're an idiot.

Pitcher got the ball, spent a FULL second gesticulating (as if masturbating with the ball) toward third. Then threw.

On that exact same play, minus the runner on third, that play is easily made. And if it isn't... it's because of an error.

Very essence of a fielder's choice.

Now, stop dragging me back into this.

I've taught you all I can on the matter.

you're still blatantly ignoring the rule that was fucking quoted. it was a hit, so give it a fucking rest.

Now I get to teach you.

It's only a fielder's choice if the fielder either chooses to attempt a putout of a runner other than the batter or stands there trying to hold the runner on base throughout the play. Once the attempt to put the batter out is made, the menu drops to hit, error or putout.
