Did you see the fucking play, Pube? I did. It was a hit.

Go jerk off on your own thread.

You must not have seen the play, because Utley beat the throw. It's a fucking hit.

And I'm with TGD...go back to your own thread.

Is there some sort of rule that requires a guy to be a middle infielder in order to surpass the 30-game hit streak?

It's sort of odd that Molitor, Castillo, Rollins and now Utley are some of the only guys to achieve it in recent years. Vlad is an exception, and there are probably a few more. But I'd expect this from an outfielder or a first baseman. Perhaps they swing for the fences too often.

Pitcher made the throw to first. Utley beat the throw.

Why does it not surprise me that Pube is clueless as to baseball rules?

So, you think Utley is safe on that play if no one was on base?

    Doesn't matter.

Pitcher made the throw to first. Utley beat the throw.

Official scorers are not sorcerers sent to divine the intentions of the fielder.
If he makes a move to the lead runner, that's a different story.
If he looks him back and the guy beats the throw, it's a hit.

It's, y'know, in the rule book.

Who's to say that the pitcher wouldn't have tripped and fallen if there had been nobody on third base. Who's to say that Utley would have tapped it lightly if there was nobody on base. You can't base the call upon what might have happened in another scenario. Sure, the guy hesitated. But the rule book says it's a hit, and that's all there is to it.

    Pube:

Go STFU and go back to trolling somewhere else. Give it the f--- up already. You're a clueless piece of crap - and I know this is the reaction you want; but enough already.
