Using the Mendoza Line in a college paper?

    Doesn't matter what paper you're at, too many readers are going to wonder what the Mendoza Line is.

    Much better to refer to it by the name of a recently departed player for your college.

    "The Billy Ballplayer line, named after graduated second baseman Billy Ballplayer, who left Hometown U with a career batting average of .198 over four years."
