    Great call. Though I was partial to the Bandits as a 10- and 11-year-old.

    How come the California Bulls never had a left-handed QB?

    Didn't Steve Young sign a 20 or 25-year contract with the Express? He might still have a year left on his deal, so he has to play ... even if it's at running back.

    I went to most of the Oakland Invaders games as a kid. One of my friends was loosely related to John Ralston and the family gave away tickets to everyone.

    The problem is that there are not enough marquee players around to make a new league viable. I've covered the USFL and the World League during my career and I saw that, along with poor attendance and too many run-of-the-mill players were major reasons. Some of those teams couldn't beat a decent college team.
