The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss., first reported Floyd's resignation. He is from Hattiesburg.

As long as it took for them to get something up they would have been vilified had they not given proper credit IMO

 

RB, I'd be willing to bet that this story was broken by columnist Rick Cleveland, whose father, Ace, was SID at Southern Miss at the same time Floyd's father was coaching hoops there. The younger Cleveland and Floyd have been tight for years.

 

I think Rick and Tim Floyd were in the same class at Hattiesburg High.

Speaking of quality work...kudos to ESPN television getting shots of Indiana Pacers' coach Jim O'Brien pacing the sidelines as Andy Katz compared the situation to that which happened at Ohio State earlier in the decade.

Some thangs need explaining. Floyd is from Hattiesburg which is why the C-L had it. Kind of surprised it beat the Hattiesburg American on the story.

 

I know where he's from. Still inexcusable for the LA papers to get beat like a yard dog on this.
