USC's Stafon Johnson seriously injured

    Would it have had the force to do the damage that was apparently done, though?

    Obviously that much weight will do some damage no matter what, but the trauma seems to suggest it landed with some force.

    This is my thought, as well.

    Or, is it possible that Johnson lost his focus while straining/being tired from too many lifts, too much weight, or at least, too much weight at that point for his state of fatigue, and then misjudged, or his depth perception was off, as he tried to place the bar back onto the apparatus' cradles, and the thing came crashing down?

    We do need more information.
