Why would LSU get a BCS bid when the Tigers finished third in the division? Arkansas, Auburn, LSU. Auburn beat LSU head to head.

Are you saying writers and sports talk radio show hosts don't pine for change? They don't rally the public outcry? They don't call for change? They don't speak for the public?

If you think they don't (fanboys or not, which I'm not by the way) you're wrong.

One minute the masses (writers/radio personalities/TV personalities included) are cheering the BCS - until something like this year comes along - then they're jeering it.

Without a West Coast team in the Rose Bowl (assuming USC beats UCLA), it just might take Rutgers if it's available, to drive East Coast TV ratings. Rose Bowl doesn't have its normal attraction on the West Coast without a Pac-10 team.

Because LSU is going to finish up in the BSC standings, and they're the hot team as of right now after the defeat of Arkansas. Auburn probably had an argument before they got ripped by Georgia, but LSU appear to be the more exciting team, and exciting teams make for TV gold.

The key game is the SEC title and assuming Florida wins.

Dec. 19 Poinsettia Bowl, MWC No. 2/3 vs. At-large (Alabama)
Dec. 28 Independence Bowl, Big 12 7/8 vs. SEC No. 8 (South Carolina)
Dec. 29 Music City Bowl, ACC No. 5 vs. SEC No. 6 (Kentucky)
Dec. 29 Liberty Bowl, SEC (Georgia) vs. CUSA champion
Dec. 30 Chick-fil-A Bowl, ACC No. 2 vs. SEC No. 5 (Tennessee)
Jan. 1 Outback Bowl, Penn State vs. SEC No. 3 (Auburn)
Jan. 1 Cotton Bowl, SEC No. 3 (Arkansas) vs. Big 12 No. 2
Jan. 1 Capital One Bowl, Wisconsin vs. SEC (LSU)
Jan. 3 Sugar Bowl, BCS vs. Florida

Jay, did you pull these form somewhere? I think in some areas LSU is being thought of as an at large because there are 10 bids available this year, not eight as before because of the NC game after the four BCS bowls. If we assume that you have the six conference champions + Boise, that leaves three at larges.

Are those Michigan, ND and LSU, or if not, who?

Every indication I've heard says Virginia Tech is going to the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Wouldn't surprise me Doc, but who's do you think ends up with the three at-larges for the BCS games?

Rutgers or West Virginia, assuming Louisville wins the Big East

My guess? SEC sends two to the BCS (SECCG winner and LSU)

Dec. 28 Independence Bowl, Big 12 7/8 vs. SEC No. 8 (RammmerJammer)
Dec. 29 Music City Bowl, ACC No. 5 vs. SEC No. 6 (Carolina/Kentucky)
Dec. 29 Liberty Bowl, SEC (Carolina/Kentucky) vs. CUSA champion
Dec. 30 Chick-fil-A Bowl, ACC No. 2 vs. SEC No. 5 (Georgia)
Jan. 1 Outback Bowl, Penn State vs. SEC No. 3 (Tennessee)
Jan. 1 Cotton Bowl, SEC No. 3 (Auburn) vs. Big 12 No. 2
Jan. 1 Capital One Bowl, Wisconsin vs. SEC (Arkansas)

    BCS: Ark/Fla and LSU
