    Absolutely true.

The only time anyone in this country ever cares about soccer is during the World Cup. Every single U.S. result is an opportunity to determine whether or not the game will ever "make it" in the U.S. Now, sadly, a loss to Ghana means that most people will remain unimpressed. If only the U.S. had won! The World Cup would have pulled Super Bowl-like worldwide numbers, and American sports fans, so open-minded and ready to support soccer, would have become interested!

Now, instead the game will die. I wouldn't be surprised if the MLS dies, and we fail to qualify for the next World Cup. Everything hinged on this one game.

And they blew it. Soccer has no future, no fans, in the U.S.
