USATodaySports.com optimized headlines for April 2012:

'March Madness Wrap-up by Topless Jessica Alba'

'Masters Tournament Preview and Jessica Biel Bikini'

    'Dirty/Nude Aguilera/Spears Opening Day'

Well, I guess you could just do your normal story, then put up a porno on the same page for the views. Or do a video of your subject for the story, with two people doing it in the background.

You know, Marty, some of us journalists are able to digest information and decide for ourselves what is true, what is a lie, what is sort of true, what is a rumor, what is premature, all that.

It's what we do every damn day.

So get of your high hobby horse and quit kicking people who are working their asses off for peanuts and act like you know a little something.

Based on your responses here and their tone, I assume you know next to nothing.

Not sure why you have such a burr in your saddle on this one. I suspect you are one of the bitter 2008 layoff crowd who flood Hopkins' site with gossip and dumb comments.

You keep fighting the good fight with Gannett then. Always good to be on the side of the angels.

Isn't that the argument they use over there, too?

Over where? You should try to string words together so that they have meaning.

You mean, like combining "you," "next," "know," "to," and "nothing" in the appropriate order?

I assumed you could figure out I was referring to Hopkins' site, where they make the same arguments you are making here.

Here's a tip: Try being less snotty. Your comprehension will improve, and you'll get better tips for your service.

I guess my snotiness was spurred by your dismissive attitude toward people in our industry who lost their jobs. I'll try to do better.

But, in my book, if you take away someone's job and continue to haul in millions of dollars in bonuses, you can expect some mean remarks on a blog.

Nice try, but you were snotty long before that comment. I was just trying to figure out why, and it appears I have.

Hope things rebound for you. It is shitty that a company would do what you say. But that doesn't make every criticism and every rumor true.

Hopkins' blog had a copy of the memo that was sent out to the USAT sports staffers. Looks like this rumor is true.

And a lot of the criticism of Gannett on Hopkins' blog, and on here, has been the truth.
