USA — rugby power?

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by TrooperBari, Nov 3, 2013.

  1. While many Kiwis don't forgive SBW for his back-and-forth between Union and League, he brings an added dimension to the All Blacks. Carter is unmatched, and Savea will grow into a monster. Oh, and some guy named McCaw might play some in the future, too.

Unless hit by injuries, that team is going to awfully tough to beat in the 2015 RWC.

Not so much, no. I gave them too much credit with 5 for a try.

Applied for and didn't get tickets to the match in Brighton. Bummer.

ESPN2 showing New Zealand vs. Australia live late tonight/early Saturday morning. All Blacks going for a record 18 consecutive wins.

  4. What the All Blacks have done since the 2015 RWC is really incredible. They lost McCaw, Dan Carter, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Tony Woodcock, and Keven Mealamu to retirement and are STILL DOMINATING.

That is akin to an NFL team having three Hall of Famers (still near their prime) and three long-time key contributors all retire -- and go 16-0 the next season.

The gulf between the All Blacks and the rest of the world is enormous.

Ireland stun All Blacks at Solider Field. One of the biggest wins ever for Ireland, especially since it is likely the third-best team in the Northern Hemisphere behind England and Wales.

All-Blacks blaming it all on Cutler.

ESPN2 stepping up and showing Australia-Italy and the Lions-All Blacks tonight/this morning. Looks like ESPN2 will show the other two Lions tests.

Great win for the Lions as they held the All Blacks from scoring any tries. Series tied 1-1. Game changer was Sonny Bill Williams getting a red card for a shoulder charge and the Lions regaining discipline in the second half.

Final match next Saturday morning (3:30 a.m. Eastern) on ESPN2.

Reportedly the first All Black to be sent off in a test in 50 years? Oopsie.

Winning in Sevens is a nice start. But it's like winning a summer passing league title before the real 11-man fall stuff.
