They're calling it a "business model transformation."

I call it a great way to accelerate their ultimate demise. For one thing: I don't carry around a lot of cash (partly for safety reasons, partly because of the usurious fees charged to exchange cash at borders -- a good deal of my travel is in Canada). This move, to me, shows this airline's profound lack of interest in actually having customers.

People in the US are driving less everywhere but the Northeast. Why? Because in the Northeast, one can drive instead of fly on the routes that are US Air's bread and butter. I never fly from Boston to Philly anymore, or to DC for that matter.

I wouldn't wish Atlanta's airport on my worst enemy. Or bin Laden.

I don't mind Atlanta, it has been almost 3 years since I got delayed there.

Then you haven't flown out of it in three years.

Actually, I did about 10 times this winter.

Have flown nearly 40,000 miles on Delta so far this calendar year, with zero problems at ATL. That's got to be slightly better than blind luck.

Or he's been delayed for three years.

Ha! I like your way much better.

  10. Wholly agreed.

It's just a minor-league shitbox of an airport.

There's no buying anything inside, and the employees are the rudest I've encountered at any airport, except perhaps LaGuardia.

Give the way the airline industry is today, it wouldn't surprise me that, in the event the events in the Terminal actually happened, that the airliners would start charging the stranded passenger to stay against his will.

    HELL! That's an idea.

US Airways can announce a new money-making scheme. All flights are delayed unless you pay a $25 "On-time" fee.

I can see it now. The wave of the future I tells ya!
