    Spent four years working for an airline.

    The case you cite is famous. That one, the Aloha flight -- where the fuselage ripped open during flight -- and a few others are really legendary.

    I do believe this is the second time a flock of birds has brought down a jet in NY in 8 years

    A looking-ahead question to ponder. Exactly how does one remove an intact airplane from a river?

    will be crossing the GW shortly, not sure if I'll be able to see anything or not since it was near 50th street. There are so many ferries there, it's not too surprising they got there quickly, but still very very fortunate.
