    After reading the SI article, sure hoping it's "just" the brain cyst. Guys already got all the $ he could ever need....may be time to enjoy life.

    If he's gonna coach the Sugar Bowl, and he's not leaving for another job, why not wait until after the game and save your team the distraction?

    I would think Florida would want to get an early start in looking for a replacement. Why drag it out? It can be used as motivation, too.

    hate to say this but i fear this will not end well for coach meyer. hope i'm wrong and by this time next year we're all saying how "tanned and fit" he looks and are speculating on his next stop. :(

    I agree. Sadly, at this time of year a temporary leave would seem more appropriate for anything short of a terminal illness. I realize it's an awful thing to speculate about, and I welcome someone providing a more hopeful theory.

    I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it's to head off rumors and leaked information and to get the story out there before there is a week of speculation that could be turned very illicit instead of the health problem it is.
    Hope he gets better.
