    My brother-in-law, who teaches calculus to high school students and is in every way I can think of a rational person in all other ways of his life, has an immense fear of an Obama presidency. He swears Obama took the oath of office by swearing on a Koran.

    I told him he had Obama confused with the guy from Minnesota. He didn't believe me. Wouldn't take my word for it, even after I sent him the Snopes thing on that e-mail.

    These kinds of emails do one thing...allow people to justify their prejudices and fears rather than try to grow as a person and accept new viewpoints and new possible ways of thinking.
