OK: I went to bed last night, and my laptop got left on.....wake up this morning, and the cat had slept on the keys, and during her slumber turned my screen upside down......

How do I gain it's rightful position?

Jesus, people, the simplest answer is usually the correct one*. Turn the monitor upside down. Easy.

    * -- I would refer to this as Occam's Razor, but do you really want Chef dealing with razors again?

EDIT: I see I'm late to the party.

I'm pretty sure Stitch is right.

If you want to go the long way:

If you're in Windows 7, I believe rotation settings are under
Personalization > Display Settings > Advanced Settings.

If you're running OSX, you're going to want to go under System Preferences>Displays (under Hardware)>Click the rotate list to Standard

Let the kitteh haz cheezeburger before you go to bed. Then this problem won't happen again.

Duct tape it to its kitty bed.
