    When they start paying $6 million+ a year to coach seventh grade, then maybe so.

    But the NFL pays more than college, and you said that's just "about ego."

    Agreed. Chip was the one who broke that Texas was staying in the Big 12 when everybody was reporting they were going to the Pac-10 (at the time). He's as good as they get on this beat.

    I just think it's silly to dismiss a person wanting to succeed at the highest level of his profession, as opposed to the minor leagues, as "about ego," with "ego" used perjoratively.

    A couple years ago a friend who covers the NFL said that when Belichick hangs them up, the first call will be to Saban.

    A lot of good that will do when Tom Brady is 40, and this was a couple years ago...
