So perhaps the most major of all major college football programs is the minor leagues? He makes a ton of money, probably has perks better than most NFL coaches. Big-time college football IS the major leagues. He's not at an FCS school.

The list still stands at one person to win championships in both, right?

They're different disciplines. Now more than ever. I can see him going for NFL money if it's massively better, but I don't see him being successful there. He's a college legend and an NFL washout.

Denials will come for a couple of days. Then they'll announce he's stepping down. I believe Chip before I believe anyone at Texas.

I agree with you. Chip isn't a "throw shit against the wall and hopes it sticks" sort of guy.

Oops. Yep. I don't count Switzer, though. Coaches who leave the sideline for bathroom breaks are disqualified.

If there were ever a team to win in spite of its coach. With a better coach the Cowboys probably win four in a row.

    Yes, absolutely it is.

I know the perception is that college is the minor leagues because players progress to the NFL, but if you coach one of the big boys, it's dumb to leave. It's likely about ego more than money at that point.

No, it's not. Not if you want to succeed at the top of your profession. Saban has not.

Like I said, all about ego. Doesn't make it a smart move.
